Can you believe there is only a week until Valentine’s Day?! It feels like the New Year just began. I was never one to celebrate this holiday. Don’t get me wrong, who doesn’t love flowers and chocolates?? But I felt it was just over commercialized and the meaning is lost behind all of that.
One thing about the holiday I love though, are the greeting cards! Remember when you were in grade school and you exchanged Valentines with your classmates? What better way to show your loved one, or friend, you appreciate them?! They are such a simplistic thoughtful offering.
Just in time for the holiday, I thought I would showcase a couple of the cards for Valentine’s Day. Each of these are available in my Etsy account and more will be come available over the next few days.
This one is by far my favorite! The Cricut Explore Air 2 was used to cut out the card shape itself and the overlay colors were cut and curved by hand. The Cuttlebug was used to display a delicately embossed heart and the “be mine” die cuts. Chalkboard paper was used for the be mine and enhanced with white chalk to give it more of a homey feel. The ribbon was hand tied and deliberately placed.
I used a simple filagree washi tape on the middle paper as for accent. It really needed just a little something so it didn’t look so plain! The flower has a little heated adhesive glam to hold the flower in place.
Working with paper crafts are a work of art, the creative juices definitely need to be flowing to prepare the perfect card.
The last card was cut with the Cricut Explore Air 2, along with the “love you a latte” die cut. Again, I used printed paper, cut it and curved the edges by hand. Heated adhesive gems were used to give the card more bling. 😍
Hope you like what you see! If you like what you see and would like a handmade card, please contact me here or visit my Etsy shop. Have a great day! Keep crafting on!
