It is inevitable that we have to make choices throughout our lives. Each day we make a choice to get out of bed, brush our teeth, brush our hair, take a shower, etc. You get where I’m going with this.
It was a huge choice to take a step back from my career. It was a huge step back to ground zero. I had NO IDEA where I was going. The only thing that felt right was my blog and my motivation to create a brand.
That motivation soon became daunting once I started working in retail and hospitality. I didn’t have time or the motivation to keep up with it. Not to mention just feeling lost. It’s amazing how much your career/job can influence your motivation.
I thought I was doing the right thing walking away from my career. I felt better, I felt freer. But, that only lasted for a short while. After working in retail and hospitality, I knew something was off. No matter how happy I seemed in those positions, something was always missing. It wasn’t until I started driving for Uber, did I really miss talking to people and engaging in deep conversations. It was a lightbulb moment for sure. I realized at my last career setting, I was sacrificing so much in order to just get my license and be done with it. Now that I am settled in a setting that really takes the time in nurturing and creating a healthy office setting, it is so refreshing to see what this field has in store for me.
Does this mean I will not be continuing The DIY Chic? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! If anything, the great hours I am working will create a better flow of creating things after work to “relax”. I am so looking forward to what comes of this time in my life. I’m hoping that I get enough inventory, I can get my first pop up store up for the winter!
Speaking of more time, check out this piece of beauty I was able to put together for a graduate. The clients daughter, LOVED IT! Those are the kind of stories I love to hear. I have a special present I plan on making her next week. Ahhh! So exciting!!!
What do you think? Definitely a step up from my cards in the past.
My library of tools continues to grow, thanks again to my mother. Organization definitely needs to be key going forward. Anyone else struggle with organizing? This was my past weeks spread in the MAMBI Happy Planners. One step at a time. Let’s do this!
